

Career Coaching: During your first semester, first-year students begin exploring Career and Professional Development (CPD) through the ECS 101 course, which provides an excellent introduction to our resources and services.
While our Career Coaches focus on supporting upper-level students preparing for fall and spring recruiting, there are many ways for you to get started with CPD right away. These options are designed to set you up for success and help you explore during your first year:
- Schedule a one-on-one appointment on Handshake with a Community Fellow
- Drop in for a walk-in hours with a CPD Fellow
- Attend group advising sessions and drop-in hours listed in the Events section of Handshake

Explore Your Interest
- Find career communities that align with your interest by taking the Career Community Assessment.
- Check out the Exploring Career Community for more tools and resources to direct your career planning.
- Meet with a CPD Fellow to learn more about CPD services, events, and resources to help you get started.
- Learn more about how to Explore Your Interests / Conduct a Self Assessment – this will be helpful before you meet with a career coach!
