Career Coaching

At Emory, Career Coaches are more than just advisors—they’re expert partners in helping you discover your strengths, clarify your goals, and take meaningful action. Each coach specializes in one of our eight Career Communities, giving you access to industry-aligned insights and personalized support tailored to your interests.

Students meet with coaches to talk about:

  • Exploring career interests
  • Building resumes and cover letters
  • Internship or job search strategies
  • Interview preparation
  • Graduate school options and timelines
  • Networking tips and resources

These 30-minute collaborative appointments are personalized, focused, and built around your goals. Your career coach will:

  • Ask questions to help you identify your strengths and explore your interests
  • Break big tasks into smaller steps
  • Share tools, resources, and insider knowledge
  • Help you build the skills and confidence to pursue what’s next

Career and Professional Development: Essentials 101

This interactive online course helps Emory students feel confident and prepared for life after college. You’ll learn how to build strong resumes and cover letters, search for jobs and internships with purpose, and stand out to employers through personal branding and LinkedIn. The course also covers key interviewing and networking skills, so you can talk about your experiences with confidence and make meaningful professional connections.

The Major to Career module helps you explore how your classes, skills, and interests connect to real-world careers—so you can better understand your options and plan your next steps.

By the end of the course, you’ll know how to confidently move from college to your career by creating polished application materials, running effective job and internship searches, building a professional online presence, succeeding in interviews and networking situations, and turning your academic experiences into career opportunities that matter to you.
