The IIF’s Global Policy Initiatives Department is seeking two (2) outstanding and highly motivated graduate students to assist with research projects related to sovereign debt markets. These activities will include being actively involved in evaluations of sovereign investor relations and data dissemination practices in Emerging Markets. These are unpaid internships; however, they offer an excellent opportunity to enhance your knowledge, experience, sharpen your research skills and may qualify for academic credit. We request a minimum commitment of 15-20 hours a week, with up to 40 hours a week available. Scheduling is flexible. These positions are available from March 3rd to June 10th.
Successful candidates would have demonstrable interest or experience in international finance and sovereign debt markets, sustainable finance, excellent research and writing skills and be able to manage a substantive research project independently. Master’s degree in finance, economics or a related field is preferred but a comparable degree in a related discipline may be acceptable. Proficient with Microsoft Office 360 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Previous knowledge and/or experience with Python, R or other programming languages suitable for web-scraping, data visualization, and analysis is an advantage.
