Khazanah Americas Incorporated (“KAI”) is the U.S. subsidiary of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”), the sovereign wealth fund for Malaysia. Khazanah is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur and maintains regional offices in New York City, Shanghai, Mumbai, and Istanbul.
KAI’s Summer 2025 internship is a 3-month program. We are currently seeking talented and driven individuals to join the team as Analysts from June 2 to August 27, 2025. We offer the opportunity to extend the program for high-performing individuals.
Analysts will support the team and gain valuable exposure in the field of private equity investments, particularly in the technology, healthcare, consumer, business services and financial services sectors. Individuals with an analytical/financial background, high attention to detail, and strong communication skills are encouraged to apply.
The Opportunity
Day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Conducting research on various industry sectors, corresponding market segments, relevant companies, and current market trends (for example, in the technology sector – artificial intelligence, mobility, enterprise software, cloud computing, big data, internet of things.)
- Performing detailed financial modelling (three-statement operating model, DCF analysis), valuation (comparable companies), and due diligence on companies in consideration for investment.
- Creating investment memoranda and related presentations for senior management, including C-Level executives.
- Identifying key strategic themes and whitespace opportunities within a particular sector and understanding how they relate to Khazanah’s existing and future investments.
- Monitoring and tracking the performance of select portfolio companies.
- Providing general support to members of the investment team and other duties as assigned.
Our Ideal Candidate
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields of study.
- Intellectual curiosity about technology and business models.
- Investor mindset with professional acumen, organizational, business intelligence, and communication skills.
- Thorough execution and follow-through while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to sift through large quantities of information – both quantitative and qualitative – identify salient points and communicate them in the appropriate form.
- Self-starter with excellent judgement and problem-solving skills, and the ability to perform with maturity and integrity as a team player.
- Prior work experience in a quantitative and analytical environment is a plus.
Please Note: this is a hybrid position (3 days in office, 2 days remote) so you must be able to commute to New York City.
