About the Opportunity
The margin analyst will act as the liaison between WB Mason’s corporate office and branch locations for strategies and information relating to gross margin. Activities include daily interaction with branch management and communication between business stakeholders & IT developers. Other activities include reporting, data analysis & presentation of sales and profits. The position will require communication across departments (Sales, IT, Marketing, Customer Service, etc.) to successfully solve problems and implement solutions.
Eligible Locations
Corporate functions at W.B. Mason are split between two locations, our Corporate Headquarters office in Brockton, MA and our primary distribution hub located in the Boston Seaport District in Boston, MA.
This role is set in a Hybrid work environment, meaning employees will work partly remote and partly in-office, with in-office time required for training. The primary reporting in-office location for this role will factor in candidate residency, towards the closer geographic proximity between Boston and Brockton.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Data analysis of customer performance and identification of key performance indicators & trends.
- Develop conclusions and implications for all analysis.
- Work with Branch & Corporate Management to develop action plans for assigned locations.
- Contribute to the design of new systems/workflow tools.
- Perform quality assurance.
- Execute and manage various reporting tasks.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to effectively communicate with multi-level personnel
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, margin and mark up.
- Relational database experience (MS Access, MS SQL)
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Must have an expected graduation date of May 2025 or be a recent alumni
- Must possess a strong grasp of business math and exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
