Roles and responsibilities:
The chemistry intern will work closely with Research Scientists to develop the next generation of Highlight products. The intern will gain exposure to the product development process and inner workings of a startup company. Tasks may involve but are not limited to:
1. Generating new research directions
2. Supporting the development and testing of new molecules
3. Instrumental analysis and test methods via UV-vis spectrophotometry, NMR, colorimetry, titrations
The intern will also be responsible for:
- Performing experiments and analyzing data in a timely manner
- Keeping an organized and detailed notebook
Skills and experience:
1. Prior lab experience or prior related chemistry internship/work experience preferred, especially experience in organic chemistry
2. Strong analytical, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills required
3. Overall proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word required
4. Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment
Education requirements:
Current student in chemistry;
Must have finished Junior year; graduate student preferred
Job type:
This will be a paid summer internship. Summer internships will last 10 weeks. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours/week and the position requires working on-site.
