Salary: $21.06 – $21.06 Hourly
Description
- Investigates complaints and cases concerning violations of solid waste ordinances
- Issues warnings, citations, and orders for impoundment of vehicles
- Issues street sweeping parking citations
- Surveys community for cleanliness
- Maintains surveillance cameras in the community and conducts investigations based on photographic evidence
- Coordinates litter abatement collection programs and monitors work crews
- Transports workers, equipment and materials to and from work sites
- Conducts inspections of an assigned area for violations of ordinances
- Explains, educates, and answers questions regarding solid waste ordinances and collection procedures
- Appears at hearings or proceedings for violation appeals
- Conducts cleanliness surveys of assigned routes/areas
- Attends community meetings to provide information and answer questions concerning solid waste ordinances or procedures
- Attends and assists at community special collection or education events
- Monitors volunteers from the community, work release inmates, first offender program, and youth groups
- Uses an aerial lift to install, refresh, and remove surveillance cameras
- Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
- Operates aerial lift to a height of 35′
- Associate’s Degree – Biological Science – Business Administration – Engineering – Environmental Science –
Liberal Arts – Natural Science – Physical Science – Political Science – Public Administration – Related field - Two years of experience in solid waste management, natural resource conservation, engineering, or civil or criminal law enforcement, with one of the two years being in-the-field inspection experience
- Must wear safety equipment as mandated by OSHA
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Must provide one’s own source of transportation
- Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
