Graduate Students
We’re glad you’ve found us, and we know how important career support is during your graduate studies. However, our office is dedicated to serving undergraduate students and does not provide direct career advising or resources for graduate students.
The Career & Professional Development (CPD) office serves undergraduate students only. Our coaching appointments, programs, resources, and events are designed for Emory College, Oxford College, and Goizueta BBA students.
Each graduate program at Emory has its own career services and resources tailored specifically to the needs of its students. We encourage you to connect with your school’s career office directly:

Some graduate programs use Handshake for their own student populations. Graduate students in Laney Graduate School, Candler School of Theology, and the School of Nursing have access to Handshake through their respective career centers, which manage their own services within the platform.
All other Emory graduate and professional schools use separate career systems and do not receive access to Handshake through CPD. Graduate students in these programs should contact their school’s career office directly for resources, support, and job search tools.
If you are in a graduate program that does not have Handshake access, you may create a non-affiliated Handshake account to use the platform independently. The instructions below outline how to create an external Handshake account that is not connected to Emory.
Review our Policies and Guidelines to confirm your access to CPD and/or Handshake.

Handshake Access for Graduate Students outside of Laney Graduate School, Candler School of Theology, and the School of Nursing.
Graduate students are not served by our office and do not have access to our Handshake system (emory.joinhandshake.com).
Please do not request an account through our office, as we are unable to grant access and your account will be rejected and blocked.
However, you may still create a Handshake account as an individual without a school affiliation. This allows you to explore opportunities posted
to the broader Handshake network.
How to Create a Handshake Account Without a School Affiliation
- Go to go to the Handshake login page and enter your email
- Next, click the “Continue without a school” link to proceed with the registration process.
