Exploring majors and potential careers is an exciting journey, especially for freshmen and sophomores who are still discovering their interests. This is a great time to dive into different subjects and activities to find what truly excites you. Here are some recommendations to help you navigate this exploration phase:
- Take Introductory Courses: Enroll in classes related to majors or fields you’re curious about. This will give you a taste of what the subjects entail and help you gauge your interest.
- Review Career Resources: Check out resources like “What Can I Do With This Major?” to understand the various career paths associated with different fields of study.
- Connect with a Career Coach: Schedule a meeting with a CPD Career Coach to discuss your interests, explore potential career options, and get personalized advice.
- Join Clubs and Organizations: Participate in campus clubs or organizations related to your interests. This can provide hands-on experience and help you connect with peers who share your passions.
Career and Professional Development (CPD) supports students as they explore their future and career possibilities. Each Career Community has dedicated Career Coaches who can meet with students starting their first semester. Through Career and Professional Development, students can explore their futures and career options by joining one of eight Career Communities, each covering a broad range of industries and related roles. Each community has a dedicated Career Coach to guide students from their first semester at Emory.
