On-Campus Jobs

We understand that many Emory students seek on-campus jobs during the academic year—whether to gain experience, support their education, or get more involved on campus. However, Emory does not have a centralized student employment office, so where you go for support depends on your school and your student status.

The Career and Professional Development (CPD) team’s mission is to support the career development of undergraduate students in the Emory College of Arts & Sciences. While our primary focus is helping students explore career paths, build professional skills, and prepare for life after graduation, we also offer a limited service of posting on-campus, non-Federal Work-Study (non-FWS) job opportunities in Handshake. This is done as a courtesy to Emory faculty and staff seeking to hire students, and to help students in the following schools more easily discover part-time campus roles:

We recommend students at highlighted schools* reach out to their own departments directly for questions or additional support related to on-campus employment.

Handshake: How to Search for On-Campus Roles

  1. In Handshake, click the Filters box at the top of the Jobs search page
  2. Under Job Type, check On Campus Student Employment
  3. Click Apply to see open on-campus positions

While the Office of Financial Aid manages all Federal Work-Study (FWS) positions, CPD promotes non-FWS jobs when departments choose to share them with us. We cannot require departments to post with us—so the number and timing of postings may vary throughout the year. We encourage students to regularly check Handshake and explore these additional strategies for finding on-campus jobs:

  • Reach out to faculty or staff in your department to inquire about research assistant or teaching assistant positions
  • Search Emory University’s Human Resources job portal by filtering for Part-Time roles in the iCIMS system
  • Contact campus departments directly — many hire students independently and may not advertise roles through central systems

Departments with Their Own Student Job Pages
While not a complete list, these Emory departments often maintain their own student employment pages:

What If I’m in a Different Emory School?

If you’re a student in another Emory school — such as a graduate or professional program — CPD is not able to support your on-campus job search, and you will not have access to Handshake for campus job listings.

In addition to connecting with your school’s career services office, please use the list of alternatives ways a student may find on-campus employment listed in the section above.
